Solution Consultant

Position Summary:

The Solution Consultant will be responsible for aiding the process of defining, developing, training and implementing the system requirements our external business customers.  The Solution Consultant will also lead the development of training material and providing training on the systems and processes developed by the Deployment and Systems Group. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translates client requirements to functional documentation; participates in technical designs and test planning
  • Translating project objectives and high level requirements into detailed system requirements and/or use cases
  • Designs, prototypes, codes and tests new or enhanced applications
  • Performs customer support processes and activities for the implementation of new or existing applications
  • Monitors the efficiency and effectiveness of application operations and troubleshoots problems, as necessary
  • Develop and deliver training materials on the various products under the Information Systems group
  • Guiding process design and implementation in departments external to Information Systems
  • Evaluating new products and services to judge their suitability for use
  • Preliminary research and investigation of software and technologies

Required Experience:  

  • University degree or College diploma
  • Workflow design and implementation
  • Scripting experience
  • Strong Excel experience (macros)
  • SQL Experience an asset
  • Analyst experience with Software as a Service (SaaS) products is an asset
  • Demonstrating strong written and verbal communication
  • Experience composing project documentation (e.g., high level use cases, detailed business specifications)
  • Translating business needs into creative technical requirements
  • Collaborating across multiple internal teams
  • Demonstrating organization, time management, and multi-tasking skills
  • Communicating with technical and non-technical audiences

This position is 80% travel and 20% support. Employee therefore must have a reliable vehicle. This position requires travel across the province of Ontario
